The Story

So a few years back I was given the news from my Doctor that I am in fact gluten intolerant.  It came as a surprise to me, I thought he was just going to say I'm not very tolerant in general and should show more compassion, but apparently it's just gluten, so there you go.

Anyway since then I've been on the look out for decent gluten free beers whenever I'm on my travels.  The best one I found was a bottled beer served at the Grizzly Paw micro-brewery in Canmore, Canada.  To my surprise they didn't make it themselves actually, but served me a gluten free beer from another brewery called Wold Top.  Now that doesn't sound that remarkable until you take into consideration that Wold Top isn't from Canada, it's from Yorkshire, where I had just flown in from!  So long story short I flew 4400 miles to drink my local beer, still at least it tasted good!  I also have to point out that Grizzly Paw do in fact make a whole range of great beers that I also tried (in very small amounts!)

Omission Lager

Anyway the first beer I'm featuring is Omission Lager.  It's been around for a while, as you can tell from it's list of awards below, and I have to say I can see why it has had success.  It says Bright & Crisp on the label and that's a fair description truth be told.  Now interestingly these guys don't use gluten free ingredient but rather remove the gluten after the fact, it may in fact contain trace amounts of gluten still so be aware of that, but having said that I have had no reaction to it personally.  So here are the vital stats:
