Aka the skinny margarita

Created by Julio Bermejo at his family's restaurant (Tommy's) in San Francisco.  This cocktail sees the sweeting agent being switched from Cointreau to agave and it's an absolute winner!

How to make a Tommy's Margarita cocktail at home

Ingredients

  • 60ml Quality Tequila (It should say 100% de Agave on the label)
  • 30ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • 15ml Agave Syrup or Agave Nectar
  • Garnish - Lime wedge

Instructions

  • Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker
  • Fill with ice and shake
  • Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass
  • Add the garnish

Andy's Top Tip - This works equally well with blanco or reposado Tequila, so try both and see which you prefer!
