A less boozy version of the Buck's Fizz

The Mimosa was invented in 1925 by Frank Meier at the Ritz Hotel, Paris.  Whilst the Buck's Fizz was created 4 years earlier (1921) at the Buck's Club, London by Malachy McGarry.  The Buck's Fizz calls for 2 parts Champagne and only 1 part fresh orange juice.

How to make a Mimosa cocktail at home


  • 1/2 Fresh Orange Juice
  • 1/2 Champagne
  • Garnish - Orange Twist (Optional)


  • Pour the ingredients into a chilled flute in the order listed for the best mix of the ingredients.
  • Add the garnish if you wish.
