Based on the Godfather series (of drinks)

The combination of Scotch & Amaretto is known as a Godfather, there have also been many other cocktails created using the whisky plus a liqueur formula (Rusty Nail - Scotch & Drambuie), here's my take on it...

How to make a American Ancestor cocktail at home

Ingredients

  • 3 Dashes Chocolate Bitters
  • 50ml Bourbon
  • 10ml Honey Liqueur
  • 5ml Vanilla Liqueur

Instructions

  • Fill a mixing glass with ice
  • Pour in the ingredients in the order listed
  • Stir for 30 seconds with a bar spoon
  • Double strain into a chilled cocktail (martini) glass with a dark chocolate rim

 

Andy's Top Tip - Take a pre-chilled glass and roll the edge in sugar syrup, wipe of any excess, and then roll the edge of the glass in a saucer containing freshly grated dark chocolate.  Again I recommend only coating half of the glass.
