Phil Ward wondered what would happen if he threw Campari and star anise together, "I was like, wow, could those two tyrants actually coexist?" Phil recalls.  We should be thankful he give it a go because this cocktail is fantastic, thanks Phil!

How to make a Stiletta Negroni cocktail at home

Ingredients

  • Blanco Tequila 45ml
  • Martini Rosso 30ml
  • Star Anise Infused Campari 30ml
  • Garnish - Star Anise Pod

Top Tip - Phil Ward's recipe for infusing star anise into Campari is to combine 20 star anise pods with one 750ml bottle of Campari in a jar. Seal and shake gently. Let infuse for about 8 hours or overnight. Strain through a double layer of dampened cheesecloth, and bonanza!

Instructions

  • Pour all of the ingredient into an ice-filled mixing glass
  • Stir for 30 seconds
  • Strain into a chilled coupe glass
  • Pop in a star anise pod
