This cocktail was created at the Raffles Hotel, Singapore.

Invented by cocktail bartender Ngiam Tong Boon at the Long Bar in 1915

How to make a Singapore Sling cocktail at home

Ingredients

  • 25ml Gin
  • 15ml Cherry Liqueur (Cherry Heering preferably)
  • 7.5ml Benedictine Liqueur
  • 7.5ml Cointreau
  • 15ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • 10ml Grenadine (or pomegranate syrup)
  • 1 Dash Angostura Bitters
  • 120ml Pineapple Juice
  • Garnish - A pineapple and maraschino cherry flag (For how to make this garnish see my "How To" video section)

Instructions

  • Pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker
  • Fill with ice and shake
  • Strain into an ice-filled sling or highball glass
  • Add the garnish
